Doncaster Knights: List is a Knight once again

Prop Richard List has returned home to help the Knights get over the promotion finishing line.

The Thorne-born loose-head is back at Castle Park after a five year absence following his switch from Narbonne in the South of France where he made almost 100 appearances in the French second tier.

List worked under current Knights director of rugby Clive Griffiths during his previous spell in charge.

The 32-year-old was not named in the squad for this afternoon’s clash with Blaydon but fellow old boy Dom Parsons will make his first start since returning to the club.

List was delighted to secure his ‘homecoming.’

He said: “My main and immediate focus is getting some time on the field for the Knights.

“I know the club are going well at the moment and I want to work for my place and get in the team.

“I learnt a lot in France and hopefully I can bring those the skills and experiences over and put them to use.

“In my last spell here I player under Griff and that definitely played a part in my decision to return but also having someone with Darren’s [Morris] experience was a factor.

“I believe that scrum-wise you can never stop learning and to learn from someone with Darren’s CV is a massive for me.

“There are a few other familiar faces still here also - it’s great to see Kendo here and still going strong.

“In addition to the rugby factors, I have my family around here, I am local to Doncaster and we’ve been away for a long time.

“I have a little boy who was born in Narbonne and it will be nice for him to be around his grandparents.

“Right now I am looking at this season only, I want to come and add to a team that is already going well.

“Griff thinks I can add something, so hopefully it will have a positive effect on others in the team to have a new face and some fresh legs come in to try and make sure the Knights finish top of the log.”

Griffiths has made two changes to the side that beat Tynedale in dramatic fashion a fortnight ago.

Paul Jarvis will start the game at full back while Parsons comes in for Glen Kenworthy in the second row.

Adam Kettle will make his 100th appearance for the club, starting at number eight.
