Doncaster Knights have announced three new signings for next season over the last week.
Prop forward Ian Williams, 26, has joined from Rotherham Titans and will compete with Colin Quigley and Joe Sproston for the number three jersey.
Scrum half Tom James, 23, is a new addition from Bedford Blues.
And 22-year-old hooker David Nelson, who has been dual-registered with Doncaster from Newcastle Falcons this season, has made his move to Castle Park a permanent one.
“Ian was one of the best up and coming props in the Championship last season and was highly regarded by former Rotherham coach Justin Burnell,” said director of rugby Griffiths on Williams.
“He adds to the list of young players we have recruited this term as we continue to build a Knights squad with the future in mind and he provides welcome competition on the tight head side of the scrum.”
On James, who has also represented England Students and Loughborough Students, he said: “We have come up against Tom several times in recent seasons, firstly in National One whilst he was at Loughborough and more recently against Bedford were fans may remember him running through us in the game in January.
“He is a well-rounded player with a good skill-set and will certainly add to us in the scrum half position.”
Griffiths added on Nelson: “Nelly has been with us all season and will fit straight in with the squad, he’s an exciting young hooker and does his basics at the set piece really well.
“He’s explosive around the park and fits into the game we try and play.
“He’s had offers from several other clubs in the league and I’m delighted to have him with us full time next season.”
