Bentley came from behind to maintain their unbeaten start to their Yorkshire Men’s Rugby League Division One campaign - but had to settle for a draw against Skirlaugh Bulls.
The Doncaster side made a slow start and the Hull side took an early 4-0 lead.
Bentley levelled with an unconverted try out wide by Jonny Marshall.
The rest of the first half was nip and tuck with neither side able to put any distance between themselves and their opponents.
Trailing 18-16, there were some harsh words spoken in the Bentley dressing room during the interval but they appeared to have fallen on deaf ears as the Bulls added two more tries to lead 30-16.
When Bentley finally did get a bit of possession they started to look like a top of the table side and managed to get back on level terms at 30-30 and would have won the game had Jack Craswell, who converted three of their six tries, succeeded with a late drop goal attempt.
Marshall finished with a hat trick of tries with Alex Bateson, Nick Pownall and Ryan Craswell also touching down.
“I think we got out of jail a little bit because it took us 55-60 minutes to get going and we came away with a point which could easily have been two had we kicked more of our our goals,” said coach Andy Whitfield.
