BOBBIE Goulding Jnr was the star as the Dons stepped up their preparations for their assault on the Championship with a comfortable friendly win over Keighley.
Goulding - son of former Great Britain international Bobbie Snr - joined Tony Miller’s side on dual contract terms from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats with whom the Dons have partnered.
Wakefield were very keen to snap up Goulding from Warrington’s academy in the autumn and have given the 19-year-old the chance to impress in first team rugby league at Doncaster.
And he certainly did just that with a demonstration of his lauded goal kicking ability after landing all six conversions in the Dons’ penultimate friendly.
Tries from Chris Spurr, Lee Waterman, Grant Edwards, Dennis Tuffour, Brett Waller and Stewart Sanderson helped the Dons to a simple win over Keighley.
Goulding is likely to be given the chance to show what he is capable of against parent club Wakefield when they visit the Keepmoat in the Dons’ final pre-season friendly on Sunday.
