Yorkshire Division Two champions Doncaster Toll Bar ARLFC Under 13s finished their season in style with a convincing 30-12 win over fellow high fliers Moldgreen.
The Prospect Road youngsters had already sealed the league title prior to Moldgreen’s visit.
But there was to be no taking their foot off the gas as they rounded off their promotion campaign in fine style.
Toll Bar set the pace early on with some powerful forward play, lead by Jack Nelson and Aidan Skelton.
Kieron Lawton put in a great cross field kick for Owen Walker to score out wide. Lawton converted to make it 6-0.
The home side doubled their lead in a matter of minutes when co-captain Sam Turnill powered over on the left-hand side.
Moldgreen’s chances were limited as Toll Bar’s defence constantly drove them back.
The next set of six saw another great try out wide on the left-hand side as the ball went through five pairs of hands before Lewis Laing, who had been a menace in attack and defence, crashed over.
It looked like the floodgates were going to open as Jack Rowbotham scored in the left corner.
But Moldgreen came out after the break and immediately put Toll Bar under pressure with an opportunist try under the posts.
Toll Bar, however, replied with tries tries by Laing and Turnill, both converted by Lawton, before Moldgreen registered a consolation try on the final whistle.
Toll Bar won 15 out of 18 games and will play in the top tier next season.
