Substitute Kyle Kesik came off the bench to grab a couple of tries as the Dons clinched a morale-boosting victory in their final pre-season friendly.
The Select side, made up of top players from leading local teams Bentley Good Companions, Doncaster Toll Bar and Moorends-Thorne Marauders, gave a good account of themselves and it proved a more than useful workout for Tony Miller’s men.
Miller had to reshuffle his side when half back Scott Spaven dropped out with a shoulder injury before the start but they began in fine style with Dean Colton and Shaun Leaf crossing over in the first 11 minutes.
Further tries from influential stand off Craig Fawcett and centre Chris Spurr, and two goals from Stu Sanderson, helped the Dons to a 20-0 interval lead.
Full back Mick Butterfield and Kesik stretched their advantage to 32-0 before the hardworking Select team received some reward for their endeavours when former Dons skipper Craig Lawton helped create a try for Toll Bar full back Tom Holt with Bentley winger Craig Whincop adding the points.
Dons had the last word with another try from Kesik four minutes from time with Sanderson landing two more goals.
