Doncaster RLFC can guarantee their Championship status - and a shot at reaching Super League next season - by winning at Keighley on Sunday.
The Dons, currently fourth in the table, still have six games of the regular season remaining.
But Paul Cooke’s men can achieve their primary objective, of cementing second tier status, as early as this weekend if they win at Cougar Park.
Promotion to the Super League will be re-introduced next year. Next season’s Super League and Championship will become 12-team divisions, splitting into three groups of eight for the end-of-season play-offs. Those play-offs will see the bottom four from the top tier and top four from the second tier come together to fight it out for promotion.
