Prop Douglas was snapped up on a one-year deal after leaving Super League outfit Castleford Tigers at the end of the campaign.

The Dons are looking to build once again as they make another push for promotion from League One following the disappointment of their play-off semi-final defeat to Workington.

And Horne believes Douglas' arrival will stand them in good stead for the new season.

'Brandon is a young and exciting forward who has played at Championship and Super League level over the past couple of seasons," Horne said.

'For him to choose Doncaster as the next club for him over a couple of others shows our intent for the 2019 season.

'He is an athletic middle who will add a lot to our team, and I'm looking forward to working with him.'

Horne '“ who spent last season on loan at Halifax in the Championship '“ was also delighted with the move.

He said: 'It's a great feeling to have signed, we have some good facilities here and it was an easy decision to sign.

'I met up with Carl Hall a couple of months back and he was the first man I spoke to, and he left a lasting impression.

'I play in the middle and can play in the back-row as well, I see myself as an impact player and I'm looking for a big year in 2019."
