Makali Aizue will add some much-needed aggression to the Dons pack, according to head coach Gary Thornton.
The 37-year-old this week became the club’s latest new addition, joining from Dewsbury Rams.
He spent four years at Hull KR and represented Papua New Guinea at the 2008 World Cup.
Thornton said: “We have been looking to bring in some experience in the front row and build a respected, balanced and aggressive pack of forwards.
“Makalie’s experience and proven playing record at Championship level will be invaluable for us in League 1 next season.
“His no-nonsense style and aggressive running will give us the go forward momentum, get us on the front foot and help our pivots and nine’s to play the way we want to play.
“It gives us a real aggressive look about our pack and I am delighted he has decided to join us.
“He had other options available to him but we have sold him our vision and our hopes for 2016 and he wants to be part of that.”
Australian prop Matt Groat has left the Dons and joined Dewsbury.
