This season's top scorer - with 14 tries - says he was determined to show his loyalty to the club by committing for the next three campaigns, which he hopes will deliver the success the Dons crave.

“It is a really proud moment for me and my family to extend my stay with the Dons for another three years," Tali said.

“I have worked really hard to get to where I am and I want to push on now and help the club achieve big things in the future.

“Carl Hall and everybody at the club have helped me massively since I’ve been here, and I wanted to repay that loyalty by staying here.”

Tali arrived at the Dons at the start of the 2016 season.

Head coach Richard Horne says the Papua New Guinea native is one of the division's top players and was the subject of interest from elsewhere.

“We're delighted to have been able to secure the future of Jason as he has proved this season how important he is to our team," Horne said.

"He is one of the best players in Betfred League One on his day and has the ability to score a try out of nothing.

"He has shown great loyalty by re-signing with us because there were a number of clubs interested in securing his signature."
