Doncaster RLFC: Dons looking to bounce back

Dons boss Gary Thornton is keen for his team to put aside consecutive defeats as they look ahead to this weekend's IPRO Cup clash with London Skolars.

Thornton says his side must improve on their last two outings, and insists they’ll be taking the cup seriously.

“We’re in a bit of a slump at the minute, we’ve had two really poor games, we need to put that aside now,” Thornton said.

“It’s a cup game against London Skolars but we’re at home again at least, and we should have a couple of bodies back.

“We’ve had a bad time in that all of the injuries have come along at the same time, and some of the players that have come in haven’t done possibly as well as I’d hoped they would and we’re struggling.

“But I’d rather get that out of the way now rather than at the back end of the season.

“After these last two performances we’ve got to get back to winning ways as quickly as we can.

“We’re not good enough not to take it seriously, our next game. And we’ve got a massive improvement to make, so of course we’ve got to take it seriously.

“We’ve had a lot of good players sat in the stands unfortunately.

“There’s been eight or nine players out, they’ll come in and make a big difference for us.”
