Doncaster RLFC have signed Australian prop forward Ryan Verlinden on loan from Featherstone Rovers until the end of the season.
The deal sees loose forward Steve Snitch move in the opposite direction.
Dons head coach Gary Thornton said: “Ryan has struggled for game time at Featherstone and he will add some real size in the pack, which will be crucial for us in our relegation battle and also as we look to plan for the future.
“I am delighted we have been able to bring in a player of Ryan’s quality. I really believe he can have a real impact for us in our run in.
“Brett Waller, Matt Groat and Russ Spiers have all picked up injuries and it leaves us really light in the middle area and we need to fix that for Sunday’s clash with Leigh Centurions.”
Snitch said: “It [Doncaster] has been a tough place to be with 20 defeats on the bounce and it has been heart-breaking for the lads with the effort they put into matches.
“I’d like to wish Doncaster the best of luck for the future.
“I leave on good terms with everyone, I believe this is a good agreement for both parties.
“There are a lot of young back rowers at the club who deserve a shot in the first team at Doncaster.”
