Lyons said: “It’s great to have Marsden back on board. He embodies what the club is, a tough, blue collar worker, that puts his head down, works hard and never complains.

"He sets a great example for our younger guys.”

Marsden averaged 10.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists through all competitions last season.

He scored a season high of 20 points in September against former club Manchester Giants and produced a season high of 12 rebounds in October against Glasgow Rocks, both in BBL Cup competitions.

Marsden has helped the club reach the BBL Trophy final in 2018 and secure a runners-up finish at the 2019-20 British Basketball All-Stars Championship.

“I’m really looking forward to another season with the Sharks, especially with the way the last one ended due to the pandemic,” said Marsden.

“The club has done a great job bringing back some familiar faces that will help us pick up where we left off.”

Marsden played for Leeds Force for two seasons before joining Sharks.
