WBC champion Harper has been called out by WBO title holder Mikaela Mayer – and a huge unification fight with the unbeaten American could be on the cards.

However, Hearn suggested in the aftermath of Harper’s victory over mandatory challenge Katharina Thanderz that her next fight could be against IBF champion Maiva Hamadouche or WBA champion Hyun-Mi Choi – both of whom have recently joined the Matchroom Boxing stable.

“One of the best things about women’s boxing is that the champions will fight the champions,” said Hearn.

“There is no reason why we can’t have one champion in every division. That’s what the fans have always wanted in boxing.

“There’s no excuses in the super-featherweight division.

“We’ve signed Hamadouche and we’ve signed Choi. I think that’ll be next for Terri Harper but Mikaela will want that fight as well.

“I want to see Terri Harper be undisputed next year.

“She has all the ability in the world. Sometimes she lacks a bit of confidence. I’ve been rattling her up this week telling her ‘you’ve got to believe in yourself, you’re a superstar, go and fight like a superstar’.

“It was a beautiful performance [against Thanderz] – with one hand for half of the fight, the left hook, the body work, the jab, everything.

"For me now Terri’s got to kick on in 2021, go and get these other belts, face these other champions and let’s find out who the best is at 130 pounds.”
