The first race gets underway at 5.00pm, with the finale at 8.10pm. We have previewed the pick of the action with selections and analysis.

The feature race of the evening is the six-furlong Handicap over six furlongs at 6.35pm. The contest carries a £20,000 prize fund and features the evergreen veteran Danzeno. The 10-year-old failed to win last term, but ran a string of fine races in defeat, including when second at Doncaster at the St Leger Festival. This is no easy task off top-weight, but he has gone well off top-weight before and is of interest.

Lampang needs to bounce back from a below par effort at Lingfield last time out, but remains open to more improvement, whilst Aberama Gold is a solid yardstick and has to be respected having tasted success over course and distance last term. Magical Spirit is another to throw into the mix having run three excellent races towards the back-end of last term, including when landing the Ayr Silver Cup.

Lexington Dash was a good second at Doncaster in March and is another to note, along with Edraak who scored at Windsor in April and seems to be progressing with every run. Mokaatil, third at Pontefract, earlier this month, completes the seven runners.

The mile Handicap (6.05pm) is another interesting event at 6.05pm with an excellent prize fund of £12,000. Top-weight Aerion Power returned to action with a smooth win at Newcastle, but has a tough task to shoulder weight all round here. Moraaheq is another live contender having won his first starts this year, before not being disgraced when third on the All-Weather at Chelmsford in April.

Captain Cooper is another horse having his first start on turf having scored in fine style at Newcastle in January, whilst Luckiness and Willyorwon’t He complete the five runners.

Another £12,000 event takes place at 5.00pm in which the pick of the runners could be Via Serendipity who has disappointed on the All-Weather this term, but has plenty of good form in his back catalogue. Northernpowerhouse progressed well last term and is another to consider along with Blackheath and Mountain Brave.

The £5,800 Maiden at 5.35pm is another interesting event. Benzema, the namesake of Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema looks a fascinating newcomer, but he will have his work cut out to stop Tyson for Richard Hannon who finished a good fifth on debut having met trouble in running. He looks sure to take a step forward. The sextet are completed by four other newcomers, chiefly Dr Youmzain, a 32,000gns purchase and 18,000gns buy Lucy Lulu. Cassiel and Shaladar complete the six runners in what promises to be a fascinating night of action on Town Moor.
