5.15pm Handicap (7f). Selection: Admirality

A tricky opener in which Admirality makes most appeal. He has not been disgraced in his last two starts, including when seventh in a competitive event at York. This represents a drop in grade and he can get the better of Kaeso who looks well-handicapped off his current mark and Blackheath who was a good third on his latest start.

5.45pm Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (7f). Selection: Golden Whisper

Madame Pekan is respected for George Boughey. A 14,000gns purchase, she is related to a number of winners and is interesting along with fellow debutant Asaayil who is related to smart Group Two winner Threading and comes from the family of Dubai Millenium. However, Golden Whisper gets the verdict. An 8,000gns purchase, there are plenty of winners in her pedigree and she is fancied to make a winning debut.

6.15pm Maiden Stakes (6f). Selection: Zaammit

Zaammit shaped with some promise on debut at Salisbury when finding no luck in running. That experience should stand him in good stead and he can get the better of Anasadontia and Dawson Lane who are both making their debuts.

6.45pm Handicap (5f). Selection: Harmony Lil

Thornaby Pearl was successful at Ripon in May and is capable of further progression following a 6lb rise, along with Harmony Lil who shaped with promise at Bath last time out. Others in with a chance include Batraan who is capable of bouncing back from a poor effort at Goodwood last time and Signora Princess, who scored on turf at Catterick in April.

7.15pm Handicap (6f). Selection: Dave Dexter

Dave Dexter scored on his latest start at Catterick and has only been raised 4lb for that win. Roundhay Park looks the main threat having failed to back up a win at Doncaster when down the field at York last time out. However, it is too early to write him off and he demands respect in this event.

7.45pm Fillies’ Handicap (1m 2f). Selection: Lady Reset

David Pipe saddles the unexposed Lady Reset who dropped back in trip to score at Leicester on his latest start. She also has top-class apprentice Laura Pearson on board and therefore makes appeal to follow up in this event.

8.15pm Fillies’ Handicap (1m 4f). Selection: Going Underground

This looks an opportunity for Going Underground to get off the mark. Well-beaten in his first three starts, the son of Lope De Vega was an eye-catching third at Windsor last time out and looks capable of further improvement. That third came over 10 furlongs and the step up to 12 furlongs should eke out more improvement and he makes plenty of appeal in the finale.
