But de Graaf threatened to turn the match on its head by claiming the second set 3-2.

However, Greaves kept her composure to win the third set 3-0.

Afterwards she told Quest TV: “I would’ve been gutted if I got beat [on my birthday]. It’s a good birthday present so I’m really happy.

“The first set I played really well and I felt fine. And then she just started hitting everything but I got it back and I’m happy.

“The break came at a good time. I went off stage and played a little game on my phone and relaxed a little bit. I think that’s just what I needed.

“It feels great to be in the semi-finals. I know I’m capable. I’m just really relieved to get through that.”

Greaves enjoyed a comprehensive 2-0 victory against Tori Kewish in the first round, dropping just one leg against the Australian qualifier.
