Doncaster preview and tips for Tuesday – Revolver to silence rivals on Town Moor

The opening race is at 12.30pm with the concluding contest at the day at 5.05pm. The meeting is taking place behind closed doors and strict social distancing protocols will of course be in place for the meeting and the Racing Post have previewed all of the action with stats and analysis.

The feature race of the day comes at 2.00pm with the £10,400 Attheraces Handicap. A field of 14 go to post which are headed by The Cruising Lord for Epsom trainer Michael Attwater. The four-year-old was second in Listed company last season and whilst below that level in a number of runs since, the Coach House gelding takes a drop in class here and on ratings should have live claims if reproducing his best form. Corinthia Knight has been a stable star for trainer Archie Watson, particularly on the All-Weather with nine of his 11 career wins coming on the surface. He was in need of the run when seventh in Listed company last time out and is another smart type taking a drop in grade. Others to consider include Ice Lord who has run with credit in defeat on his last two starts, whilst Admiralty has plenty of solid form in his back catalogue and also enters calculations in a competitive event, along with The Great Heir who was unlucky in running on his latest start at Redcar and take closer order here.

The £7,250 Free Tips Daily On attheraces Handicap (3.00pm) is another intriguing contest. Intercessor was one of the longest-priced winners in history when he belied odds of 200/1 to score at Newbury last time out. He enters handicap company for the first time here, but a mark of 74 might just underestimate him. Newmarket trainer John Gosden is currently operating at a 26% strike-rate in the last two weeks and saddles the unexposed Indie Angel who shaped with promise on her comeback run when third at Chelmsford last time out.

Notforalongtime has won his last two starts for Clive Cox and also enters calculations now pitched into handicaps off a mark of 81 for a trainer enjoying a 14% strike and a jockey in Adam Kirby enjoying a 21% strike rate in the last fortnight. Tom Collins looked an exciting prospect for trainer David Elsworth last season, but has struggled in his last three runs. However, a drop in class here makes him of interest whilst Duesenberg is another to consider after a gelding operation and is having just his fourth start for a trainer in Richard Fahey who has a 10% strike-rate on Town Moor.

Angel Of Delight was third to subsequent Royal Ascot winner Onassis last time and if fit enough for this reappearance run, she must also enter calculations for trainer Hugo Palmer who is enjoying a 17% strike-rate in the last two weeks, whilst Her Majesty The Queen’s Cloud Drift should improve for his reappearance at Lingfield earlier this month.

In the finale, the £5,400 Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Handicap (5.05pm), Revolver will be a short price to notch up a third quickfire success for trainer Sir Mark Prescott. Successful at Pontefract and Redcar so far this month, this looks a canny bit of placing by the Newmarket trainer and he should prove tough to beat.
