The Midlands Premier Division club, which is based at Castle Park, posted on Instagram: “Looking for something to do once lockdown is over? Why not join Doncaster Phoenix ahead of the new season!

“We are looking for players of all abilities, so whether you’re new to rugby, want to get back into the game or if you’d like to test yourself at a high level of amateur rugby then we want to hear from you.

“Contact us on 07384 702100, email [email protected] or send us a message.

“We’ll add you to our social media groups where we’re posting daily fitness challenges for everyone to join in with before the government announce that it’s safe for us to start pre-season, hopefully later this summer.”

Phoenix finished seventh in last season’s Midlands Premier.

Following the early end of the rugby season in England due to Covid-19, the final standings for the Championship and men’s and women’s community game were calculated on a best playing record formula maintaining promotion and relegation for those leagues.

Meanwhile, Phoenix are looking for volunteers to join their executive and general committees for next season, and have also appealed for new sponsors and fundraising ideas.

They would like to hear from anyone who can offer help, assistance and expertise to ensure the future smooth running of the club.
