Knights’ tough pre-season campaign in the Trailfinders Challenge Cup saw them beaten twice by the ambitious London club and also by relegated Saracens but a new-look squad has also shown encouraging signs in their play.

Ealing’s victory saw them crowned champions of the triangular tournament having won all four of their games.

Doncaster did well to be trailing just 14-10 at half time thanks to a try from George Roberts following a lineout.

Winger Kyle Evans also touched down late on for the visitors but it proved to be just a consolation as Ealing, who ran in six tries, ran out comfortable winners.

Knights start their Championship campaign at Ampthill on the weekend of March 6.
