Their trip on January 7, 2020 will see a series of matches take place at Town Moore with an after-tournament social occasion following at the nearby Regent Hotel.

“This is a great honour and we look forward to extending the warmest of Yorkshire welcomes to all the players, officials, staff and parents from Wanderers Australia,” said Steve Holmes, Chairman of Doncaster Hockey Club.

“Prior to the matches, the players will enjoy a coaching session from three of our first team players: Matt Gibson, Charlotte Dodds and Jonathan Redfern.

"This is so that they can see how our top teams train and the skills and drills that they practice.”

This makes it one of the newest pitches in the region.

“This is a great occasion for the junior players and the club, but also for the sporting community in Doncaster,” added Steve.

During the 2020 tour Wanderers Australia will also visit Leamington HC, Dereham HC and St Albans HC in the UK as well as travelling to France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
