Doncaster 10k Road Race 2019: Are you pictured in our gallery?
Jenny Blizard (Rotherham Harriers) froze out the opposition in a 3,000-strong field as she became the first woman to finish in the Curly’s Athletes Doncaster 10k road race last weekend.
The Doncaster-based vet-40 runner beat her younger rivals when clocking a time of 36 minutes, six seconds to win the event which finished inside the Doncaster Racecourse complex.
Georgina Weston (36.40) won the women’s open race.
Nick Martin won the men’s open race with over a minute to spare in a time of 31.26.
Doncaster Athletic Club’s Phil Bussey (44.52) won the men’s vet-70 race with clubmate Kev Newman finishing second in the vet-60 race in a time of 38.06.
Henry Cullen (36.29) and Megan Hatfield (39.22) won the respective under-17 races, with Daniel Hayward (37.05) and Carrie Trewern (42.11) taking the honours in the two under-23 events.
Natalie Burns (36.42) took the honours in the women’s vet-35 race as did Debra Harrison (37.47), Nicola Fulton (40.59), Christine McGrath (42.23), Kathryn Dickinson (46.02), Betty Barber (57.43), Helen Eberlin (54.22) and Rita Wright (1.04.03) in their respective vet-45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 races.
Alan Ford (33.18) led the way home in the men’s vet-40 race with Damian Davies (34.56), Graham Justice (36.55) Steven Lowndes (37.52) and Dean Norton (35.53) also claiming the spoils in the vet-45, 50, 55 and 60 races.
Malcolm Senior (45.42) won the vet-65 race with Dave Onion (1.04.27) proving the man to beat in the vet-75 race.
