“I circulated details of where Ealing’s biggest threats are likely to come to the players and coaching staff on Sunday and we’ll prepare as usual unless the situation changes,” said director of rugby Clive Griffiths.

Even if the game does go ahead Griffiths said it would it would be likely that there would be changes to the usual travel arrangements to protect players and staff.

If the RFU decide that no further games can be played this season Griffiths favoured promotion and relegation be decided on current positions rather than the various English leagues being declared null and void.

“I don’t know what will happen going forward but I’d like to see the season completed if at all possible, because Newcastle deserve to go up and Yorkshire Carnegie deserve to go down and Richmond deserve to be promoted from National One," he said.

Knights remain ninth in the table after going down 35-26 at home to Coventry at the weekend.
