Here, we look at what happened next for every player that made an appearance in the memorable 2007/08 season. Part two will follow soon.
9. Graeme Lee
2007/08 appearances: 1. The skipper was nearing the end of his excellent spell with Rovers by the time they reached Wembley, having suffered a string of injury problems over the preceding 18 months. He is now manager of Middlesbrough U23s. Photo: Steve Taylor
10. Adam Lockwood
2007/08 appearances: 42. The defender remained with Rovers throughout their Championship run, departing in the summer of 2012 after making more than 160 appearances for the club. He moved into management in non-league with Guiseley and Dover Athletic and recently took charge of hometown club AFC Wakefield. At Guiseley, his assistant was former Rovers boss Dave Penney with the duo keeping the club in the National League against the odds. Photo: Chris Bull
11. Mark McCammon
2007/08 appearances: 37. The Barbados international switched to Gillingham following the play-off final win. The forward remained at the Priestfield for three years, with a loan spell at Bradford City. He won a case of unfair racial victimisation against Gillingham after alleging they refused treatment for an injury and said he would be docked wages for not travelling into training during heavy snow. After leaving Gillingham he joined Braintree Town, who loaned him to Lincoln City in 2012. Photo: Chris Bull
12. Sean McDaid
2007/08 appearances: 26. The defender remained with Rovers for the first two seasons in the Championship, but managed only one substitute appearance in the league during that time as a dislocated kneecap began all manner of injury problems. He joined Carlisle after leaving Rovers in the summer of 2010 but was forced to retire less than a year later, at the age of 25, due to issues with his knee. He is now a football agent.
