Dubai Future Champions Day on Saturday 12th October is the highest quality day of racing for two-year-old colts and fillies staged anywhere, in Britain or overseas.

Held for the first time two years ago, the meeting features six Group races, including the £350,000 Group 1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes, which was won by the legendary Frankel in 2010, and the Group 1 £170,000 Vision.ae Middle Park Stakes.

There’s also the tradition-steeped long-distance handicap, the £250,000 Betfred Cesarewitch, which starts in Cambridgeshire and finishes in Suffolk.

Students from across Britain are also being invited on Saturday to find a dream job in the horse racing industry during the second annual Racing For Jobs event. All students aged under 25 will receive free admission into the grandstand and paddock enclosure upon production of appropriate identification.

A host of organisations in the racing industry will be at the jobs fair, offering advice to young people about careers in the sport.

They will include The Jockey Club, The National Stud, the British Racing School, Anglia Ruskin University, the British Horseracing Education and Standard Trust, the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association’s ‘Next Generation Club’, Careers In Racing, Great British Racing and Oxford Brookes University, plus Warwickshire College, Writtle College (Essex University) and Moulton College.

In the morning, and for the second year, Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket will offer an insight over brunch into Darley Flying Start, a two-year, international management-training programme for future thoroughbred industry leaders.

As well as Racing for Jobs, there will also be free entertainment on the Hyperion Lawn, including Bambi the minature pony, a horse anatomy show, live music, stilt walkers, jugglers and Great British Racing’s ‘Kids Love the Races’ roadshow.

Among the afternoon’s other activities are: question-and-answer sessions with racehorse trainers Ed Walker and Amy Weaver, and tipster Gary Nutting; and an alternative session with current World Touring Car champion Rob Huff -– official ‘ambassador’ of Newmarket racecourses.

Family enclosure entertainment includes a fun craft workshop, giant inflatables, a face painter and the playground.

We have the best young racehorses here for the highest quality day of racing for them in the world. As well as great sport and free entertainment, we are delighted to be staging the second Racing For Jobs event when we showcase the career opportunities within racing for the student ‘future champions’ of tomorrow.”

The sections that will be affected are the northbound closure of A11 and the exit/entrance of A1065 Brandon Road.
