Four triathletes from Doncaster clocked impressive times in Germany in the colours of Great Britain.

James Nottingham, Jonathan Frary, Jess Barrington and Katie Webster proudly represented Team GB at the recent ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships in Dusseldorf.

The quartet are all part of the Blizard Physiotherapy & Sports Performance Clinic team based in Bircotes, Harworth.

Nottingham, 25, from Thorne, finished 12th in the 25-29 age category with a time of 01:09:31.

The Doncaster Triathlon Club member, who also works for Polypipe, won the Epworth Early Sprint Triathlon earlier this year.

Frary, 37, came 11th in the 35-39 age category after completing the run, swim and bike ride in a time of 01:10:30.

He also finished seventh in Soria, Spain, in April in the ETU Duathlon European Championships.

Barrington, 26, a sales consultant and level two triathlon coach from Retford, finished 20th in the 25-29 age category, clocking a time of 01:28:14.

While Webster, 36, from Edenthorpe, came 13th in the 35-39 age category, recording a time of 01:21:02.

Approximately 800 triathletes from around the world took part in the event.

Friend Joanne Aldren, who travelled to Germany to support the quartet, said: “After qualifying for Team GB they all travelled to Dusseldorf at their own expense.

“As friends we followed.

“Germany made such a great effort in security and safety, and it all worked like clock work.

“There were many age groups from very young to people in their late 80s which was amazing to see. The atmosphere was amazing.”
