The Miners Doncaster Volleyball Club are celebrating winning Division Three North of the National League.
They also secured promotion to Division Two North with victories against title rivals York VC and Manchester Marvels.
The club was formed in 2015 and has aspirations of bringing elite level volleyball to Doncaster.
Secretary Jozef Balazs said: “Our secret is our family ethos and the amazing commitment, loyalty to The Miners and love for the game of volleyball.
“Most of our players are total volleyball fanatics.”
Zbigniew Bloch, a Polish national and former professional player who founded the club, sadly lost his short battle with cancer last year.
“Zbigniew believed in me and wanted me to continue to fulfil his dream to climb the league pyramid and make Doncaster a home for volleyball,” said Jozef.
“That is what drives me.
“Playing sport has a very positive impact on people’s lives, their confidence and gives them a sense of belonging. I recognise that and I will continue to grow The Miners family.
“It’s going to be a significantly higher level of volleyball next season,” he added.
“We will try to increase the intensity of our training and create complex training sessions to enhance our players’ abilities and push to a higher standard.
“I believe in our players and I think that they will adapt to the higher level of playing and hopefully surprise teams in Division Two.”
