ALMOST 120 horses were in the running to race in the Lincoln - but today that will be whittled down to the final 22.
Richard Fahey was the trainer with the most entries - 15 of his horses were initially among a 118-strong entry for this year’s showpiece.
But that number has been gradually reduced over the course of this week, with the runners set to be announced this morning.
Selection for the Lincoln is based on ratings given to each horse by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) - ensuring that the best horses make it into the main race.
Horses ranked 23-44 in the pecking order then go into the William Hill Spring Mile (Sat, 2pm).
