Nicki Smedley stormed back into the professional game tonight.
The Woodthorpe, Sheffield man made his return to the ring after a four and a half year break with with a 40-35 points win over Duane Green.
Smedley was strong from the first bell, scoring an early knockdown.
Nicki, the 29-year-old son of boxing trainer Chris, beat Green, from Norwich, at Doncaster Dome.
He now wants to get on the ladder to future titles and achievements.
The win was Smedley's performance since lost to Nigel Wright in Summer 2011 in a English super lightweight title contest at Hillsborough.
The victory moved him to a won 15, lost one record - and opens the door to more meaningful fights.
Smedley began his career a decade ago - but the win now signals a new intent.
