Jason Cunningham must not count Jason Booth out

His best days may be behind him but the force of Jason Booth should not be underestimated by Jason Cunningham.

That is the verdict of Cunningham’s trainer Stefy Bull, who will lead his man into action against former British, Commonwealth and IBO super flyweight champion Booth at Doncaster’s Dome on Saturday.

Booth has won just two of his last ten fights but Bull insists the 37-year-old should not be counted out.

“His recent record isn’t great to look at but when you look at the kids he’s been fighting, it’s better than you think,” Bull said. “He’s been in with the best in the country and gone the distance with the majority.

“There can be no underestimating him.

“He might not be the fighter he was but he’s still good enough to cause Jason plenty of problems.

“Jason knows he’s going to have to be at his best if he’s going to beat Booth. This is his real opportunity to show he can achieve big things himself.

“A win against one of the country’s best fighters over the last decade will do that.”

Woodlands fighter Cunningham won a tune-up fight last time out following defeat to Ross Burkinshaw in a Commonwealth title fight.
