Jamie McDonnell WILL return to the ring next Saturday – promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed.
The Hatfield bantamweight was originally announced for the undercard of the huge clash between Carl Froch and George Groves in Manchester.
But McDonnell and fellow fighter Stephen Smith were left waiting for clearance from the British Boxing Board of Control due to disputes with their respective former managers.
McDonnell remains in dispute with Dennis Hobson and will attend a Board hearing on Monday where he will present his case for cancelling his contract with the Sheffield-based promoter.
But the Board have already given the green light for the 27-year-old to resume his fighting career as he aims to win another world title following the IBF’s decision to strip his crown last month.
McDonnell will compete in an eight round contest at Manchester’s Phones 4u Arena.
He will then be back in action on December 14 in London and is expected to be involved a February card topped by the clash between David Haye and Tyson Fury.
