In-form European Tour golfer Danny Willett will be dropping in at Doncaster Golf Range this week.
The Sheffield-based player, who has banked over 100,000 dollars in prize money alone from tournaments in the Middle East and South Africa this year, boasts career earnings of more than four million dollars since securing his European Tour card in 2009.
He will make a guest appearance at the Armthorpe Lane facility between 3-7pm on Thursday.
Willett turned professional in 2008 following a glittering amateur career, during which time he also played Walker Cup golf.
During Willett’s visit, which will coincide with a demonstration day by his sponsors, Callaway, he will officially open the venue’s new state-of-the-art golf simulator.
“Danny and myself will be trying to get customers to enter a nearest the pin and longest drive competition,” said head professional Lyall Jardine.
“Anyone beating Danny will be entered into a prize draw to win some signed merchandise.
“All proceeds from the competitions will be donated to Danny’s chosen charity, Breast Cancer Research, a cause for which he jumped out of a plane during the recent event he played in Dubai.
“Danny’s visit will hopefully help promote our facility and also give our customers and the local public the chance to see and meet one of the country’s finest players.”
The event is open to anyone.
