HICKLETON’s Lee Hopwood won the Sheffield Amateur Open Championship by two shots at Hallamshire Golf Club.
Leading a high class field of 64 after the first round was Lewis Hollingworth from Tankersley Park with a two under par 69.
Hopwood was well in touch with a 71, alongside Wheatley veteran Steve Brennan.
With Hollingworth falling away in the afternoon round, Hopwood came through with a three under par 68 to clinch the title with a total of 139.
Hopwood followed in the footsteps of fellow Hickleton golfer Andy Herbert who lifted the cup in 1995.
Among those tying for 6th place was Gary Fullwood of Wath upon Dearne Golf Club with 144.
