Doncaster Racecourse will be packed to the rafters tomorrow when the track celebrates the Royal Wedding in style with its annual free race day.
Tickets have been sold out for weeks for the eagerly awaited Bank Holiday fixture, which features the Betfair’s Will They Marry Furlong Handicap – a five-furlong dash for three-year-olds (3.35).
Among the entries is Tim Easterby’s juvenile winner Boundaries, who is set to be ridden by champion jockey Paul Hanagan, while all-weather winner Look Who’s Kool is set to make his re-appearance for Ed McMahon.
Later, Kevin Ryan’s in-form Red Kestrel holds an entry in the Balloons Away Royal Wedding Handicap (4.10) over a mile and a half, with Hanagan set to partner course winner Patavium for Edwin Tuer.
Racing also takes place on Saturday evening when the Class 3 Mercedes Benz Of South Yorkshire Handicap (7.45) tops the bill.
Cape Vale, a winner at Ripon for sprint king Dandy Nicholls, and the revitalised Dickie Le Davoir, stand out among the five-day acceptors.
Pea Shooter, an eyecatcher when second to a potentially useful rival over course and distance on his debut earlier this month, can go one better in the Frenchgate Shopping Centre Maiden Stakes (6.40).
Racing on Saturday evening gets under way at 5.35, with the opening race on Friday set to start at 2.30.
