DONCASTER Athletic Club will be represented by 12 athletes at this weekend’s English Schools Championships in Gateshead.
Sprinter Ransford Anthony hopes to be among the medals in the 100m, while Ashley Langton takes part in the 200m event.
Triple jumpers Alexander McDonald, Alice Howe and Daniel Hardman are joined in the field events by Nicole Bewley and Tom Kirk who will compete in the shot putt, while Lucy Chappell is Doncaster’s hope in the high jump.
Aiden Davies (400m hurdles), Bertie Houghton (1500m) and Rachel Shaw (4x100m relay) will also be in action at the International Stadium.
Club chairman Kev Lincoln said: “All of these athletes have trained hard, which requires lots of personal dedication and sacrifice.
“The qualifying events are very tough, so we are pround that so many of our young members are going forward to represent Doncaster AC.
“Credit must also go to our team of coaches who give up hours of their time in support of our athletes.”
