Cycling: Tanner gets season off to a flier

DONCASTER’S John Tanner teamed up with Collin Humphrey to smash the course record at the George Ely Memorial Time Trial.

The Team Sportscover Altura RT pair were on top form and were constant in their pace around the Beverley course to claim victory.

They were followed home in second place by Sportscover team-mates Ashley Brown and Adam Duggleby.

Tanner and Humphrey’s time of 47.58 is thought to be a course record.

The pair team now have a fortnight before their next competition, round one of the Yorkshire RR League in Harrogate.
