This year’s Danum Trophy Road Race will be contested over a challenging new course around High Melton.

Doncaster Wheelers CC’s annual contest for Category 2-4 riders will take in ten laps of a six mile course, starting at Sprotbrough Country Club on June 23.

The course will take riders through High Melton, down towards Mexborough before looping back up along Pastures Lane through Cadeby and back to Sprotbrough.

The Danum Trophy is a well known early season regional contest and is expected to attract a large number of entrants, keen for a run out on the new look course.

The winner will receive a prize of £80 while the top 15 riders will be awarded British Cycling points.

The event – which begins at 10am – will be run in conjunction with the Sprotbrough Scouts’ Fun Run and Gala which will take place on New Lane field.
