Danum Eagles had a weekend of mixed fortunes as they thrashed Birmingham Mets but also suffered a surprise defeat at struggling Derby Trailblazers.
Oliver Hylands (27 points), Mathew Martin (18) and Paul Walsh (15) led the scoring in a 103-78 dismantling of Birmingham on Saturday.
But an Eagles side minus three key players due to work commitments came unstuck at Derby the following day, going down 76-73. Martin (23) led the scoring.
Eagles’ third league defeat of the season leaves them two points behind Division Three leaders Team Newcastle University, having played two games more. Newcastle are the visitors to Danum Academy on Saturday (2pm).
n Danum Eagles U14s went down 73-60 in their top of the table clash with York Eagles. Elliot Kerley led the scorers with 17.
Eagles U18s lost 77-76 to Leeds Force. Harrison Bell scored 21.
