Men’s basketball bounces back in Doncaster this weekend.

Danum Eagles’ new men’s team will take to the court for the first time in friendlies against Hull Panthers and Wales’ national team.

The club are preparing for life in the Men’s National League.

When they launch their Division Four campaign in September it will be the first time the town has been represented at that level since Doncaster Panthers folded almost two decades ago.

Eagles’ All-Star weekend will see hundreds of junior, senior and veteran players descend on the club’s Danum School base.

As part of an action-packed weekend, men’s first team coach Ross Stafford will get a first glimpse of how his senior squad is shaping up, against Hull on Saturday (4pm) and Wales on Sunday (12.15pm).

Eagles have plenty of talented young players to call upon and, with several of the club’s highly-rated graduates also set to return to turn out for the men, they are tipped to go well in Division Four.

The club have lofty ambitions to reach the British Basketball League within five years and are in talks with officials at The Dome about staging games at the former home of the Panthers.

Entry this weekend costs £2.
