Danum Eagles secured a hard fought 67-54 win at Newcastle Under Lyme College Knights to remain firmly in contention for the Division Three title.
Eagles were without George Colwill and found themselves four points behind at the half-way stage.
Coach Ross Stafford’s talk did the trick, though, as Eagles opened a 15-point lead on the way to victory.
Eighteen-year-old Liam Knapp was outstanding, netting 28 points. Mathew Martin chipped in with 15.
Eagles remain two points behind leaders Team Newcastle University but have played a game more than the north east outfit.
