JASON Ball ensured a tough ride for highly touted Chris Eubank Jnr in a competitive clash.
The Armthorpe light middleweight was the underdog in the clash at Rotherham's Magna Centre with many predicting a stoppage outcome in favour of the son of former two weight world champion Chris Eubank.
But a mixture of effective work from Central Area champion Ball plus an injury to Eubank's hand ensured a much more balanced contest than expected.
Eubank complained afterwards he had suffered an injury to his right hand during his preparations for the bout and he did largely box with his left, particularly in the later stages.
But that was when Ball turned up the heat and his pressure had Eubank unsettled.
Referee Howard Foster handed out a 58-56 decision in favour of Eubank, showing how much of a say Ball had on the bout.
