South Axholme Academy’s Year eight swimming team have been crowned North Lincolnshire champions after taking part in a series of races.
The team, which is made up of six boys and six girls from the school, came out on top after competing in a range of both individual and team relay races.
Tilly Arrand produced a standout performance for Axholme in the 50m Freestyle, and the team won to finish in first place in every relay race, which included a 4x25m Freestyle Relay boys (Jimmy Smith, Alex Shaw, George Jackson, Will Shaw), 4x25m Freestyle Relay girls (Tilly Arrand, Isobel Heywood, Hattie Latham and Katy Braddock), Mixed Medley relay (Sam Smith, George Durning, Isobel Heywood, Neve Latham) and the 4x50m Freestyle Relay (Sam Smith, George Jackson, Isobel Heywood and Katy Braddock).
The win represents another great achievement for the Academy, and it also qualifies them to represent North Lincolnshire in July at the Humber Youth Games, where they will be eyeing more success.
