DONCASTER Mustangs are in optimistic mood ahead of the new BAFL Division One North campaign, which kicks off on Sunday.
Mustangs will field a completely new offensive line when they face Merseyside Nighthawks at the Keepmoat Stadium Athletics Arena.
Tom Crosier, Sam Hodgson and Lee Davies have all been recruited from Gateshead Senators, while former Great Britain quarterback Pete Rogers has joined from Yorkshire Rams.
The club are also awaiting international clearance to select Clemens de Rose, of German Premier League side Braunschweig Lions, who is in the UK studying.
Simon McHardy, from Merseyside, and Yorkshire’s Phil Keeling have been brought in to bolster the defensive line.
General manager Mark Blyth said: “It just seems that this year we will be stacked at every position on the field.
“We haven’t had this much quality to choose from for a long time.
“We’re very optimistic about our chances this season.”
Sunday’s game kicks off at 2.30pm.
Admission is £3 for adults, £1 for Under 16s, with Under 10s free.
