Isle teen up against champions in Rallycross racing

Teenager Morgan Wroot is motoring ahead in Rallycross racing, and will aim for podium positions in two major championships this year.

At the age of 14 the Crowle competitor has a Suzuki Swift car in which he has honed his driving skills in a field close to where he lives.

Prior to that, he spent years go kart racing while he waited to come of age to compete in Rallycross.

Last year he competed for the first time as a junior in the British Rallycross Championship, with a podium finish after making the last three rounds plus the end of season Grand Prix Race.

A further two podium finishes followed in the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship.

This season will be his first full one as he drives in the MSA British Junior Suzuki Swift Rallycross Championship, and the BTRDA Clubmans’.

Entries are up for this year and Morgan will face tough competition with drivers such as Tom Llewellin, son of British Rally champion Dai Llewellyn, and Norwegian cross kart champ Ole Henry Steinsholt taking part.

Morgan’s mother, Clare Wroot, said: “From the first time Morgan watched Rallycross, he said that was what he wanted to do. His dream became a reality when he turned 14 in August last year.”
