A rising star in football and cricket has been celebrating a double sporting victory after landing two top club selections.
Haxey youngster Kyle Bingham has not only netted selection for Doncaster Rovers’ football academy, but has been further bowled over after a call-up for Lincolnshire County Cricket team duty.
Bingham, who plays for Haxey Cricket Club and attends Hill House School where he holds a prestigious sports scholarship, has earned plenty of well-deserved plaudits after scoring more than 20 goals for his school football team this season.
And he also captains Hill House’s highly-successful under-12s cricket team and plays as a fly-half in the rugby side.
Bingham’s incredible double celebration has been hailed by his school’s director of sport Martin Webdale for his all-round sporting prowess.
He said: “Kyle is one of our outstanding sportsmen.
“He has a great future in whichever sport he chooses to pursue but is also keen to play anything.
“He is also a super fly-half in the rugby team.”
