Rovers’ top two goalscorers this season have been forced to make do with places on the bench in recent matches.

Sadlier has been a substitute in the last two fixtures while Taylor has started just one of Rovers’ last five matches, with only two appearances in total in that run.

Moore says the increased competition in his squad has given him opportunities to freshen up his starting XI and select sides best tailored to beating the opposition.

“Finally we’ve got competition,” Moore told the Free Press. “As well as players are playing, we’ve got competition.

“Up the front end you’ve got Taylor, Sadlier, Okenabirhie, Cole, Coppinger - just to name a few up there, in terms of competing over three or so places.

“It’s great to have the competition because it’s something you need in those positions.

Supporters have seen Taylor start, Sadlier start, Taylor not start, Sadlier not start, Ennis start or not start.

“I’ll say it’s going to ebb and flow like that until the end of the season.

“All those players are working extremely hard in training because they know there is competition for their place.

“They want to play at the best of their ability in order to stake a claim and keep their place.”

Sadlier – who is out of contract at the end of the season – has scored 11 goals this season and Taylor six.
