Wright had started seven consecutive matches for Rovers before Tuesday’s 3-1 win when he sat on the bench with Cameron John coming in at centre half.

“Joe was unlucky because he had a bit of a knock that he picked up in training,” Moore said.

“I didn’t really want to risk him, not with the games scheduled that we’ve got coming up.

“We didn’t take the risk and I’m pleased I didn’t have to bring him on. Hopefully it gives us time just to settle down.”

Moore revealed his decision to drop Madger Gomes came due to the opposition and looking to secure the win, rather than form.

Gomes was excellent in the draw against Sunderland last time out but did not get the nod against the rest of the roster.
