Doncaster Rovers Ltd is listed as having a winding up petition issued against it by HMRC as part of High Court proceedings on Wednesday.

But the company has settled its outstanding tax bill prior to court proceedings, meaning the petition will be instantly dismissed.

Rovers were presented with a tax bill last summer by HMRC which was higher than expected.

An agreement was reached with the tax authorities to continue paying the anticipated bill each month before settling the outstanding amount last month.

January is when EFL clubs receive a Premier League solidarity payment and Rovers committed to using funds to clear the outstanding tax debt with HMRC.

That has now been completed, allowing the winding up petition to be dismissed.

Rovers were in a similar position earlier in the season and saw the petition dismissed.
