Rovers will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Shrewsbury Town today, seven days after losing 2-1 to Gillingham on the road – a game they had led before striker Fejiri Okenabirhie was sent off and Cameron John scored two own goals.

And full-back Halliday, the only ever-present in Darren Moore’s side this season, believes Rovers must be more ruthless in games as they push for a top six berth.

“I can’t remember too many times this season where we’ve deserved to lose a game,” said the 24-year-old, who joined Rovers from League Two outfit Cambridge United last summer.

“We have wasted a lot of points this season, I believe, and hopefully Saturday isn’t one of those days and we can put some points on the board and start looking towards the play-offs.

“Consistency is massive. Obviously playing Saturdays and Tuesdays you can’t just win and lose, you need to be picking up points in every game.

“And as I said, too many times this season I believe we’ve wasted opportunities where we could have gone on to win the games and ended up losing or dropping points.”

Rovers boss Moore says he hasn’t set any play-off targets as his side enters the business end of the campaign, but Halliday believes he and his team-mates have what it takes to make the top six.

“We believe so. I think myself, the team, the staff and hopefully even the fans believe we can do it, so I don’t see no reason why not,” he said.
