Darren Moore is confident Doncaster Rovers’ entire senior squad will be used over the final ten matches of the season.

Rovers’ next scheduled match is on April 4 after the EFL moved to halt the campaign for three weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Moore’s side were already set for a congested conclusion to the campaign but potentially the schedule could only become more demanding, if and when the season resumes.

The Rovers boss has seen his selection policy scrutinised in recent weeks with high profile players such as Kieran Sadlier and Jon Taylor spending time on the bench.

But Moore believes he will have to call upon every member of his squad during the run-in.

“With the way the season has been panning out, over the course of these ten games, we’ll chop and change,” Moore said.

“We’ll take each game in isolation. We just look at it for that game in that moment.

“The best thing the squad can do is keep working as hard as they are to keep the competition fierce.”

Moore believes the competition that has been forged within the Rovers squad will serve his side well once the action resumes.

“What the squad possesses is lots of versatility and looking in all three departments, there’s a little bit of competition in each, which is what you want,” he said.

“Certainly, with the turnaround of games that we’ve got coming up, I envisage the whole squad will be used in some capacity.

“It’s good to have and it’s a nice balance to have because it keeps people fresh, it keeps them vibrant and it keeps that competition healthy.

“It is what you want.

“In recent weeks we’ve seen that competition in the team and it’s been good for me as a head coach to have that option for horses for courses if you like.

“We feel it’s been successful.

“I’m not saying that anyone has got the right to play at any time. When they do step in they are expected to do a job for the team and the club.”
